The review of the first three sessions of the Basic ten series

Course Description:

A basic premise of Dr Rolf’s work is that the human body over time acquires strain and compensations that limit movement and eventually lead to deeper restrictions. The first three sessions of the Rolf ten session series addresses easing the superficial fascial restrictions that inhibit body movement. It was Dr Rolf’s contention that if we first address these surface restrictions we can effectively begin to free the body from its limitations. What a practitioner learns over time is that there are various layers within the body and that by easing each layer one at a time the body becomes more upright. This workshop is designed to enhance the practitioners’ understanding of the first three sessions and to develop this ability to differentiate these layers and work with easing them one layer at a time.

Instructor Bio: 

Neal received his Basic Training and Advanced Training with Dr. Ida P. Rolf starting in 1971 at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. He became a member of the faculty of the RolfInstitute in 1980. Neal was the Rolf Institute President for six years, 1982-88. In 1992, he became an Honorary Life Member of the Rolf Institute. In 1991 Emmett Hutchins, Peter Melchior, Stacey Mills, and Neal founded the Guild for Structural Integration. Neal was an
active teacher on the Guild faculty and then became the Guild's President from 2013-16. Neal continues to teach for schools recognized by IASI. Neal has a great ability to clearly deliver the principles and theories of the SI work, and with his amazing sense of humor, strong spiritual and family base, he has become a guiding light for many practitioners. He has devoted his life to spreading the theory and practice of Dr. Rolf's work to his many students around the world. He has taught in China, Taiwan, Japan, Israel, Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, and across the United States and Canada. In 1983 and 1985, he led two scientific exchanges to China. In 1988 he was part of a study group that researched the effects of Structural Integration on ice skaters’ performance for the USA Olympic Center in Colorado Springs. Neal has maintained an active and successful private practice in San Francisco since 1973.
