Course Description:

Join us for a truly innovative training that gets at the heart of trauma to support clients to go beyond coping and genuinely heal. Integrate a body-based model into your current modality. The Somatic Memory training is designed to develop skilled trauma-informed practitioner through hands-on practice.

Training Highlights:

  • Understand the role of memory systems in forming traumatic reactivity
  • New SI Assessment Tools: how to recognize Fight-Flight-Freeze Structures and how to address them
  • Assess and plan treatment using the Trauma History Inventory
  • Polyvagal Theory in Therapy: Engaging the rhythm of regulation
  • Develop specific clinical techniques to work with stress and trauma symptoms
  • Three case studies: how to work with chronic pain, new approaches to scoliosis treatments and how to integrate emotions
  • Experience and effectively use your own nervous system therapeutically

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Herbert Grassmann is a Body Oriented Psychotherapist in his own practice. He is also director of the European Association of Somatic Traumatherapy (EAST), Executive Director of the Institut for Structural Core Therapy (SKT) and founder of SKT - Strukturelle Körpertherapie, and Somatic Memory. In the late ‘80s and early '90s, he trained in Structural Integration with Peter Melchior und Emmet Hutchins. He is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner and trained with Pat Ogden and Peter Levine.
