IASI Member, Scott Gauthier Talks About Symposium

"The Symposium is going to allow me to spend valuable time with my ‘tribe.’ It will be so refreshing to chat with other people out there doing this marvelous work. Each of them has stories, questions, and viewpoints that make my life richer...”

–Scott Gauthier, IASI Member

IASI L&R Report

Washington - The Board of Massage will be reviewing and revising the rules related to work in and around the perineum at the May meeting and possibly at the July meeting. We have been working on draft language, as well as an education and advocacy piece.

Georgia - The bill submitted by AMTA-GA did not make it out of committee. The sponsor has stated an intent to consider a bodywork bill at a later date.

North Carolina - Practitioners are working to get the Board of Massage and Bodywork to recognize IASI as a CE approver. This would allow practitioners to get credit for taking IASI approved CE courses.

The NC Board has posted all the proposed amendments on its website. The section on CE is at .700 and following. The new language leaves it to the Board’s discretion which organizations it will acknowledge as CE approval organizations. It means IASI and other organizations may be able to get on the approved list.

For more information on the work being done in NC and how you can help, please contact Beth Burgin.

IASI Approves New School of Structural Integration

The IASI Board of Directors has recognized another school of Structural Integration. Upon review of their application, which demands the highest standards of practice, Japanese Guild for Structural Integration (JGSI) has been approved. JGSI has demonstrated competency in the work of Dr. Rolf and operates on professional and clear standards of SI education. We are excited to welcome this Japanese program, which is further growing the offerings of SI education worldwide.

If you would like to learn more JGSI please email them at [email protected]. You can also learn more about the other IASI recognized SI training programs on our webpage.
